On average, about 1.3 million new cases are reported every year, while half a million women lose their lives because of this disease. Therefore, it is essential to know about this deadly disease.

Understanding the problem is half the solution; if you don’t know about the condition in the first place, it is most likely you would ignore it unless it becomes a risk to your life.

Breast Cancer is an ailment in which cells develop out of control in a

woman's chest area. This unregular growth of cells leads to the formation of a tumor, which can

be felt like a chunk or a lump. It can be seen in an X-Ray. This thing becomes deadly if the

cancer cells attack other cells or tissues of the body.


How to identify breast cancer

The early signs of breast cancer are:

  • The formation of lump or mass in the breast tissues.
  • Changes in the skin of the breast or nipple.
  • Nipple releases something else other than breast milk.
  • Pain in any part of the breast.
  • Change in the shape of the breast.
  • Increase in the size of the breast.
  • Irritation or itchiness in the chest area
  • Redness around the breast area.
  • Any other irregularity in the breast area.

What are its causes

Medical science has not provided a sole reason behind the cause of breast cancer, yet we can tell some common reasons for breast cancer propagation, which are given below.

  • Genetics: If your family has a history of breast cancer, like your mother or grandmother, chances are it could be inherited further to younger generations.
  • Age: Unfortunately, With the growing age, women become more vulnerable to breast cancer.
  • Radiations: If you have ever experienced some radiations directed to your chest, the chances of breast cancer increase.
  • Giving birth in older age: Giving birth at the age of 30 or more increases the chances of breast cancer.
  • Alcohol intake: Research has shown Alcohol intake increases the chances of breast cancer.

What should you do when you find any breast cancer possibilities in you or someone around you?

Sometimes women are afraid to talk about breast cancer to others. They think about it as "Shameful" and neglect it, in the beginning, most of the time. That is where it starts getting worse because you are giving it time to strengthen its roots and once it gets stronger, it will be tough to treat it. Therefore, the best practice is to consult a doctor as soon as you find any possibilities, just in case to be sure. Breast cancer is a common disease, and anyone could get affected by it; there is nothing shameful about it.
